Van Andel Arena Top Venue Lists

With the calendar flipped to a new year, 2017 entertainment venue rankings are rolling in, and the SMG venues in Grand Rapids are being noticed. Van Andel Arena appears as the #4 venue in North America and #10 worldwide on Billboard’s year-end ranking of venues with a capacity between 10,001 and 15,000. Van Andel Arena also lands at #7 in the United States on Venues Today’s list of Top Stops of 2017 for venues with a capacity between 10,001 and 15,000, and #52 in the United States on Pollstar’s list of Top 200 Arena Venues of all sizes worldwide. DeVos Performance Hall also appears on Pollstar’s list of Top 200 Theatre Venues worldwide, coming in at #19 in the country.

Contributing to the arena’s ranking are 2017 shows from some of the top tours of the year, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, and the Soul2Soul World Tour with Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, among several others. Some of the 2017 highlights for DeVos Performance Hall include Brian Regan, Bill Engvall, YouTube star Dan TDM, and ZZ Top.

Pollstar’s rankings reflect the amount of reported tickets sold for shows played at venues between January 1 and December 31 in 2017. Billboard ranks venues by total gross amount of ticket sales between November 8, 2016 and November 6, 2017. Venues Today ranks venues by total gross amount of ticket sales between October 16, 2016 and October 15, 2017.
